Celtic Sea Power delivered the Great South West’s Multi-Port Statement – setting out how regional ports could together deliver floating offshore wind (FLOW) in the Celtic Sea. Working closely with ports, infrastructure owners and key stakeholders across the South West and South Wales this document highlights how key elements of FLOW (including; turbine staging, foundation manufacturing, wet storage and O&M) could be delivered from within the region – a maximize social and economic value to the UK
Key points:
- Over £1.5bn of investment opportunities identified across sites including; Falmouth, Pembroke, Plymouth, Portland, Bristol, Swansea, Appledore, Port Talbot and more
-
Regional port specialisms can—when coordinated— support FLOW, including; supply chain functions: foundation manufacturing, turbine staging, O&M and wet storage
-
Targeted and timely investment in key assets now would unlock private capital and accelerate readiness for future UK prosperity
This is a regionally led, stakeholder-driven plan that aligns well with work through the Offshore Wind Industrial Growth Plan. Celtic Sea Power is proud to lead this work and will continue to support ports, industry, and government to get it delivered.
