SealSpy has been developed by CSP to provide a new, non-invasive approach to monitoring seal presence using autonomous audio-visual systems and artificial intelligence.
SealSpy provides a method to collect robust environmental data that can improve both marine conservation and the consenting processes for offshore renewable energy.
Developed in partnership with the Cornwall Seal Group Research Trust and Falmouth University, CSP’s SealSpy builds directly on our wider environmental characterisation of the Celtic Sea.

This document is a designed to reduce uncertainty and accelerate decision-making for Floating Offshore Wind (FLOW) development in the UK Celtic Sea Area (UKCSA). It establishes a shared, evidence-led environmental baseline for the Celtic Sea, bringing together the strongest available data and applying consistent, receptor-specific assessment methodologies.
As a live document, it will be iteratively updated as new data emerges, ensuring assessments remain current, robust, and aligned with regulatory and stakeholder expectations.
By improving clarity, consistency, and confidence in environmental assessment, this document directly supports faster consenting timelines, reduced development risk, and greater cost certainty. In doing so, it helps unlock investable, scalable FLOW projects and enables a more efficient deployment pathway across the UK Celtic Sea.
